2008 2/11 NZ, Hawkes Bay - The City of Napier

We spent yesterday driving to Hawkes Bay from Ohakune. Today we decided to head into Napier (about 30 minutes North on Highway 2) to see what the town had in store for us.

Napier is a typical mid-size city. Lots of restaurants, department stores and the like. After a loop around the city center, we decided we could probably use a visit to the local barber shop and hair salon.

Joe was clipped in no time at all - in and out in a flash! At first, Nancy was only going for a cut, but then she decided she'd take a chance with the Kiwi stylists for color. It all worked out in the end, but we weren't sure for a while. After 3 1/2 hours in the chair she was beginning to have second thoughts. It's never taken that long to get hair color - ever! The color and style are OK, but from now on she'll get clipped and colored before she leaves the country.
