Sandfest 2007 - Day 3, Down the Drink!

To use the words of one of the Master Sculptors, the weather conditions at Sandfest this year were "perfectly horrible." The beach and sand were great, but high wind and rain proved to be a challenge. All-in-all the sculptures held up well over two days of torrential rain. Several suffered damage, but the sculptors were able to overcome the most critical damage.

The amateur sculptures were also well done. Given the weather conditions it isn't surprising that there weren't as many amatures competing as we had hoped. In any event, all creations were amazing. It would have been a real treat to see what they could have accomplished if the weather had been decent. Oh well, there's always next year.

Joe and I recommend you put this event on your calendar for next year and bring your family - you'll have a wonderful time - we certainly did.

We will be leaving Port A in the morning, but we've really enjoyed our stay.

We're off to the Hill Country!
