We are off to hike on the ice! We're being taken by helicopter to the middle section of the Fox Glacier and dropped off for a guided hike. Here is a photo of us emerging from an ice cave.
The weather today was clear and warm - it was great and the glacier walk truly a unique experience. Views from the chopper were amazing and hiking on the ice flows was thrilling. Stepping on ice where you could see water flowing beneath you is a bit un-nerving, but we made the journey safely and were thrilled. The heli returned 3 hours later to take us back to the township.
